Hannah at The Gibbon Bridge

We met Pianist Hannah at The Gibbon Bridge Hotel for her Lifestyle/Commercial Photoshoot. The stunning location and beautiful white Piano contrasted well with Hannah’s gorgeous black dress, setting the scene for some great photographs for her publicity campaign. We asked Hannah to play while we worked, so that we could take some really natural shots. As we do specialise in taking Headshots, we made sure we captured Hannah’s lovely smile on some great shots, using the piano as a “frame”. It was a really enjoyable session and we loved listening to Hannah play. We’d like to express our thanks to all at The Gibbon Bridge for allowing us to use their fabulous venue and also for their hospitality & help throughout the shoot.

Jennings Brewery

One of the things many men aspire to, is to own a Brewery! Failing that, to work for one. Some time ago we were approached by Jennings Brewery in Cockermouth to help out with their new marketing campaign. Jennings is a delightful Lake District Brewery, whose premises were hit by the terrible floods which destroyed our very own Studio in November 2009. Thankfully, like us, Jennings are now fully recovered and producing some of the finest ales you’ll encounter. You’ll see our photographs on their beermats, bottles and pump badges, with some further examples on their website. So, whilst we’ll never own our own Brewery, we’ve enjoyed working for one, if only for a brief moment!

In the image below, we added the graphics to one of the photographs Jennings selected for their campaign.

Next time you look at a bottle of Cumberland Ale, look at the photograph on the shield, this one of Crummock, adorns countless bottles and beermats.

The photograph below shows the rivers Cocker and Derwent converging at the Jennings Brewery. This one appears on more bottles of Jennings Bitter than we could dare to put on our wish list for Santa! Oh and some beermats too!

Park Life

We met up with Phil, Annette and their six children, for a Lifestyle Photoshoot in a City Centre park the other day. Despite the breeze, which certainly qualified as “fresh”, the children were happy to ditch their coats and climbed on rocks, roots and railings, wearing some really great smiles throughout! The rain, which has plagued the North for weeks, thankfully held off for an hour or two and the Autumn leaves gave us some great background colour, helping to create some memorable shots the whole family will treasure forever.

Harley’s a Winner!

After winning one of our Lifestyle Photoshoots at a recent charity event we attended, Harley’s proud Mum & Dad decided they wanted him to be star of the show! Whilst Mum, Donna was poised and ready to cope with all eventualities, Harley remained totally chilled about the whole thing and slept in the warmth of our special lighting, giving some great shots for the family album.

“Alternative” Staff Photographs

We were contacted by Faizel from PR consultants MTJ Associates Ltd. One of their clients, “APC” needed some new Staff Photographs. We were delighted to put on our Commercial Photography hats and rushed to the depot to help out. Despite the slightly chilly morning, the whole team came across really well throughout the shoot, making our job (which involved laying on the cold concrete car park at one point!) much easier. We learned two things during our visit. That “APC” stands for “The Alternative Parcels Company” and that they have a really good “family” working atmosphere at the depot, though we never quite found out if “Buster” the dog handled deliveries or was in a management role

Preston Summer Arts

We recently provided our commercial photography services for a series of really fascinating Art Workshops, organised and run by Artist, Instructor and Arts Facilitator, Louise Smith. A huge range of activities included Ceramics, Garden Lanterns, African Bangles, Bird Box Weaving, Felt Making and T Shirt printing! Our job was to record the activities and family fun for her advertising and promotional material. We visited a number of workshops and found ourselves caught up with the smiles and creative atmosphere. Altogether one of those jobs we really enjoy doing, so Louise, you know where to find us!

Mums, Bumps and Toddlers!

We were delighted to be invited by RockFM to take part in their “Mums, Bumps and Toddlers” charity event the other day. We set up a display of our work and had the opportunity to meet lots of people, some of whom have booked Photoshoots for their families and children. We entered an Impact Photography Photoshoot as a prize in the raffle, which was won by a delighted and very pregnant Donna!
Despite the rain, we were busy and really enjoyed ourselves. RockFM does a lot for the charity “Cash For Kids”, so a big “well done” goes to Rose Finnigan at RockFM for organising the event.

Headshots for Actors & Performers

At Impact Photography, we’ve been specialists in Headshots for Actors and Performers for years. Our latest client, Richard had an urgent need for updated headshots prior to an audition in London. It’s so important to have really good and recent Headshots! We are still working on our new Headshot Studio, but the unfinished building didn’t deter Richard, who worked with us creating some striking images. If Richard was a little put off by the building work and disarray, he didn’t let it show – but then he is a pretty good Actor!

Wow! Big changes and a fresh new look for Impact Photography!
To stay at the forefront of where modern photography is going, we have made some major changes. One of these was our move from our studio in Preston! Our new website and logo also reflects our fresh new look and has lots more content than ever before. Also, please note our new contact details.

Our exciting new Headshot business has really taken off, with both private and professional clients, so we’ve created a purpose built Headshot and Portrait Studio! Also, our dedicated Weddings website has been launched to cater for our growing Wedding Photography business. The rest of our work is mobile, seeing us covering the North West and wherever our clients need us. All this is very exciting and means we feel more involved with our clients and enables us to do so much more.
